In confirmation hearings today for US Attorney General, nominee Merrick Garland was asked about banning certain types of firearms, he responded “Well, as I'm sure you know, the president is a strong supporter of gun control and has been an advocate all his professional life on this question. The role of the Justice Department is to advance the policy program of the administration as long as it is consistent with the law. Where there is room under the law for the president's policies to be pursued, I think the president is entitled to pursue them”. So, I went to Biden’s site: Joe Biden's Plan to End Gun Violence | Joe Biden for President

There is a lot of text there so I went down the site and summarized some of his proposed actions, I chose the ones that I think will have an impact on ordinary gun owners. I think every gunowner will find at least a few things here that are objectionable.

From the Biden’s website he will:
  • Prohibit all online sale of firearms, ammunition, kits, and gun parts.
  • Require that 100% of firearms sold in the U.S. are smart guns with fingerprint capability.
  • Reduce stockpiling by restricting the number of firearms an individual may purchase to one per month.
  • Require individuals to obtain a license prior to purchasing a gun.
  • “Get weapons of war off our streets”. Ban the manufacture and sale of “assault weapons” and high-capacity magazines, use executive authority to ban the importation of “assault weapons”.
  • Regulate possession of existing “assault weapons” under the National Firearms Act same as fully automatic weapons.
  • Buy back current “weapons of war” and high-capacity magazines or register them with NFA.
  • Repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act holding gun manufacturers liable for the misuse of their products.
  • Require background checks for all gun sales
  • Prohibit individuals with a misdemeanor hate crime from ever possessing a firearm.
  • Prohibit federal funds from being used to arm or train educators in the use of firearms.
  • Holding adults criminally and civilly liable for directly or negligently giving a minor access to a firearm, regardless of whether the minor actually gains possession of the firearm.
  • Implement red flag laws
Please feel free to pass this list around everywhere.

I keep saying these people aren't playing. All the folks that think this is just another political cycle and business as usual are in for a rude awakening. The socialists are making their move and they don't care a bit for the constitution or the rule of law. They are going for it all and don't intend to take no for an answer.

The Democrats know they have the momentum, the numbers and the vast majority of Americans support them to pass these new laws. and like Buckskin Dave says lots of folks including some on this site are in for a very rude awakening.

I have a buddy who's one of the most dedicated hunters I know.I wouldn't call him a liberal because he wouldn't be my buddy if he was but he did hate Trump. However, his family is a bunch of flaming libs and he's just too clueless to think for himself.I sent him that exact list over a week ago and he just refused to believe any of it,even though I got it directly from Biden's own website lol. It's downright scary.

As you can see from the above the people of his generation do not consider the second amendment to be an individual right. As soon as we understand that they do not see it as a civil right, an individual right, as well as an inalienable right you begin to understand why they think it's a okay to legislate this away. Now just replace the right with any of the others that are individual like assembly, free speech, religious freedom, and so on and hold it up to their standards. as soon as you do that their argument completely falls apart and they have nothing to fall back on. Well with the exception of " if it saves just one life" or my other favorite "what about the children" .

.
The right to keep and bear arms is an inalienable right while we are holding our rifles.
If we in any way lay those rifles aside it will stop being a right at all.

That includes paying a gun tax, registering, limiting sales or ammo and whatever else you got.
Good post there IVrobs.
