In my travels for work I see a nice piece of woods and wonder who owns the property? I'd like to approach the owner for permission to hunt. The only way I know is to go to the County bldg. look up the property and go from there. Is there an easier way?

Nope. The it will probably take a trip to the court house.

Some if not most counties have tax information online, called GIS maps. You can zoom in and see property lines, owner information and so on. Like I said, some counties do not post info online but alot do.

basic search is [county name, pa] tax maps in google. Enter the county you are looking for. ie..Adams County, Pa Tax maps

If your county does not have info online, you have to go the county courthouse and look at the tax maps.

County, about 3 months ago would be the right way.

My guess is that it wouldn't matter to a landowner that doesn't hunt, if you asked in June or September. A hunting landowner, it may.
