New England forces you to basically play with fire defensively. Most DBs are beat over the head for years to not get beat over the top. Basically, when you play the Patriots, that's what you have to give them. They are mortal when it comes to the vertical passing game. You make them beat you deep, hoping that the extra time that takes allows pass rush to get to Brady. Playing something like a 2-5-5 works, but your DBs have to be physical and play press on the receivers. A 2-5-5 isn't a bad idea, as the 5 linebackers could be Worilds, Timmons, Silverback, Shazier and Jones. Silverback could make life VERY miserable for Brady.
