Hey everyone! Hope yall are doing well!

We went down to the river last weekend to target striped bass. This is the one time of year where you are able to catch them in the river here. They are chasing the shad and other river herring up the river and for about a month you'll have the opportunity to catch these guys!

We go over our favorite striped bass lures and how to catch them from shore. Finally, these fish are one of the best eating so we bring a nice eating sized one home for a catch and cook. What are yalls favorite freshwater lure for striped bass?

Hope yall have a good rest of the week and can get out to do a little fishing this weekend!

Nice video. I've been out on the lower Susquehanna June 1, 2 and this morning. Fishing has been pretty good. I got my one keeper every day so far - all 23-26" . I got them all on the Zoom super fluke in White Ice on a jig head. I'm retired and fish for stripers from shore or kayak a couple times a week all summer and fall. My wife's favorite fish to eat and last year we had it for dinner about once per week year round. I do bleed my fish by just pulling a couple gills it makes a less bloody fillet job but I can't tell a difference in flavor bleed vs non bled. One tip I can add- if you are freezing the fish take the time to remove the red flesh on the skin side. Striper freezes well but the meat in the red strip has more oils and freezing over a couple months does something that gives that section an off fishy taste. I don't bother to do this if we are eating it fresh.
