Still new to flintlock after 2 years of trying things. But for me it seems like my best load at 50yards with a patched round ball is with 70grs of 3fff. Any one else have any ideas. Should I be shooting maxis or sabbots?

I shoot a 295 grain Powerbelt Aerotip in my Firestorm with 75 grains of 3F. It seems to like that load. I took a big doe with it today at about 60-65 yards and had a pass through double lung shot.

Although I use a 150 gr FFF load with a Powerbelt normally in mine for best accuracy, around 80 gr's seemed to be the most accurate for me with a RB - don't recall the patch thickness or true ball diameter right now, sorry.
