I just picked or should i say caught a bunch of mulberries from a local tree and its way to much for jam. i still got jam from last year. has anyone made any liquors from any berries they picked before? i was looking at some simple blackberry recipes on line looks like soak the berries in some sugar and vodka and let it sit for a while strain the berries and seal...when i mill my berries for jam i get a lot of water with juice flavors that i dont use in the jam maybe i could use this and keep the berry mash for the jam?
any suggestions?

The soaking in Vodka makes a sort-of brandy type booze, a lot like rocket fuel.
I puree them, add 1 1b. of sugar per half gallon.
Start two yeast packets in warm water, sit aside until it starts to work.
Dump the working yeast into the puree and sugar.
Put an airlock on the top of the container, and let it alone for three months, in the dark, above 60 degrees.
If you did it right, you have pretty darn good wine.
Pump it out with a pump of syphon, don't pour it or stir up the junk ( Mother ) on the bottom.
That's simple Mickey Mouse wine, it works perfect.
There are much more refined ways to do it, but that's really all it takes.

thanks joe, yeah i think im gonna make a little rocket fuel as you call it and try a little of the wine you suggested also. i have been reading that mulberry doesnt make the best wine and some ppl add raisons and grape juice for flavor. any advice there?
