I'm looking to buy my first recurve and have a few used bows I'm considering. One is a Staghorn Tempest from the late 50's or early 60's. The others are a Ben Pearson Special 7300, Ply Flex Golden Hawk, and a Shakespeare Necedah. Does anyone know anything about any of these? Are they good bows for a beginning recurve. I would appreciate any help that you guys can offer.

I've heard of the Necadah as being a good one and probably the Ben Pearson.

Honestly, they are probably all good to start with as long as there is no structural problem that may be a safety concern.

Buy what you like and can afford.
