NEW YORK (AP) - Losing control during Sunday's loss to the Panthers will cost Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. one game.

The NFL on Monday suspended Beckham for next weekend's visit to Minnesota for his conduct against Carolina, when he drew three personal foul penalties. The league cited "multiple violations of safety-related playing rules."

Beckham appealed the decision. His case will be heard by either James Thrash or Derrick Brooks, the hearing officers jointly appointed by the NFL and the players' union.

Without Beckham, the Giants (6-8) would be missing their best offensive weapon as they try to stay alive in the NFC East race.

He deserved more then one game suspension, but on the six o'clock news they said threats were made on Beckham prior to the game and several of the Panther players were shown with baseball bats on the sideline.

Again, here is a player kids want to emulate and he goes and shows them ways to make a dangerous sport even worse.
Guess Beckham was sleeping the day they explained concussion 101 and how even minor ones keep a player on the sidelines for weeks.

If yesterdays game was the last tor Mr Beckham for the 2015 season that would be fine with me.

I read about the bats too. It also said they were using homophobic slurs or something to that effect. Funny how none of that came out before the game.

The thing is, he showed opponents how to rattle him. He was more concerned with retaliation vs Norman than playing football. Coughlin should have pulled him out until he calmed down.

IMO, a one game suspension is not enough.

Beckham needs counseling....Now !!

The zebra's left that situation get completely out of hand...

Shame on the Giants.... A Coach or a team vet should have grabbed him and settled his butt down...

The Panthers really got in Beckham's head. The bat & slurs are excuses for OBJ's behavior ??? Beckham was completely out of control for most of the game.

3x penalties for unnessisary roughness, now a suspension....Talk about hurting your team..

The blame/shame belongs on the ref's & the head coach for NOT taking control of this situation..

The officials did an awful job that game. Norwood isn't exactly innocent either. OBJ needs to be better than this, though. Hines didn't have problems like this, and I guarantee Hines would have gotten his score settled. Carolina was talking smack to him? Were they going to use the bats during play? If he can't handle some talk, he is going to have a bad time in the NFL. Unfortunately, he's revealed a weakness to other teams. From now on, they'll be going out of their way to get into his head.
