I was successful this past bear season. But I am running out of luck. I tanned my own hide using RP's hide tanning formula. The hide turned out good but here is the problem. I picked it up the other day and there were some beetles on the underside of the hide, in the carpet. Is there anyway to save it now? Can it be sprayed with anything?

cant help but i will tell you to get it out of the house and far away from any other mounts of any type RIGHT NOW! them bugs can spread like wildfire and ruin all your other mounts if you have any if they already havent...

get it out of the house and wait for someone that knows on here to see if theres a way to save it...sounds to me like it wasnt tanned properly....no offense...but bugs dont have interest in properly tanned hides..

Thanks, there is a good chance it wasn't tanned properly. It was my first attempt. Learn from your mistakes.

i would suggest showing it to someone.
i tanned many many bear hides and i tell you they are difficult to do properly.
chances are that (without looking at it) you probably did not degrease it properly.
if you are not loosing hair its is possible to salvage.
