Hunted the first two of buck season at camp with my family without much luck. Starting Wednesday I hunted with my normal driving gang. Wednesday was terrible with hard rain all day. Thursday wasn't pleasant either as we got wet again just from driving laurel that was soaked from rain and a light coat of snow from the morning. Friday started our best day to hunt. Started driving a little after daylight. I was posted on the top of the mountain with my buck and bear tag hanging off my back. By the end of day I wouldn't have either dragging me down. The buck was an 8 point. The bear was a sow that went 163 dressed and 192 live. This was my first bear so I have been walking on clouds since. They were shot with my big hammer, a Ruger 77 in 338 Win. Mag.
