BAITING?!?!

Don't know if this was brought up but I just read in the latest outdoor news on the front page that HB679 was introduced which would allow the use of corn for bait. I personally hate the idea just wanted to know how everyone else feels and if your for it why. not trying to start and argument just trying to become better educated.

It would seem crazy for this bill to be even looked at since everyone is so worried about CWD.

I am glad you poled "everyone" and found that they are all worried. I could care less about CWD or baiting. All the chicken littles running around crying the sky is falling over every little thing. Who cares.

Just an FYI, this bill was introduced BEFORE there was CWD found in wild deer in PA.

I don't have much of an opinion on it. I have two stands within site of a large cornfield on our property. I don't see much difference, but I wouldn't be dragging bags of corn around anyway.
Actually it is polled. Who cares, anyone with common sense that cares about the resource, that is who.
Must be plenty of resources out there. Uncle Ted hunts over bait, and he always finds resources to hunt.

Bad hair day??
Uncle Ted is the poster boy for hunting over bait. Never saw him kill anything that wasn't baited in. He is a known game law violator in California and Alaska.
It doesn't matter if it does not pass you still by law can throw out corn, etc, deer kill goodies for 335 days a year. A non-hunter property owner can feed all year. You need to look to the west deer get infected just as fast on food plots, time to do away with all feeding and let mother nature do what she is supposed to with wildlife.
A person wants to farm I suggest buying beef.

What a poacher we should revoke hunters licenses for life for hunting over any kind of food placed, planted, etc. to make a kill at that site.

except for some areas in pa where baiting for deer is legal....and many baiting states as well (like half the country). Why use your views as the moral compass for everyone? If voted legal and it's not right for you then don't use bait, but in some states like Texas they would strongly disagree with you.
Oh yes, baiting! I love fall when the conifers drop their apples, oak trees spew corn on the forest floor, and tree stumps sprout salt/mineral blocks.

Baiting is for person who is too lazy to get out and scout.

That Representative has introduced this bill before. You have to wonder about his underlying agenda.
Any sra that is legal baiting is not a morel issue but rather a deer reduction resolution. I think baiting is a shortcut plain and simple. I am not trying to impose my morals on Anybody this forum. I do not consult Texas on what they think befor I vote.
There is s big difference between a food plot and a pile of corn. The plot has many possible entries and exits. The pile brings deer to a point. Say no to baiting in PA and politicians making wildlife policy.
Some are already crying about lack of deer in some areas of the state. Why, then, would this be a good idea? What is the objective?

Can you imagine all the piles of corn out there? And what about the deer/bear overlap areas?

Bad....BAD idea! This is not fixing anything! Why must EVERYTHING under the sun be altered? I just don't get it!
