Here we go. Hard enough finding ammo last hunting season, now we may have to furnish ID and a background check for all ammo, if this passes?

Mobilization authority doesn't change the fact that potus can, and does make direct decisions in combat. I was in Iraq the day Obama took office, the ROE changed at that moment. I was part of the Afghanistan pull out and again got to see the result of direct command authority of $h!t presidential input.

Nope, I'm now in the air force. A conventional forces unit.
Now all other points you mentioned are saying exactly the same things I said.
And thank you for your service!
Does not make direct decisions in combat. Can make decisions of a go no go on special ops. But is never in the weeds on combat decisions, I also was in Iraq first when we crossed on d day. Again for Fallujah II Situations on the ground required a change of tactics not who was president.
Pull outs are always gaggles no matter the war or who is president. The pull out from Korea was a mess, from Vietnam it was a boondoggle, Carter was not flying the bird with dust in the air filter or the other bird that clipped it. Reagan armed the Taliban, Trump made a deal with them, and Biden did not draw up the tactics for the pull out. The blame falls on the Generals the true commanders.
Thank you for your continued service and stay safe. Waugh!
Careful, I wouldn't ASSume or speculate. Especially off anything he posted because if anyone bothers to read past an attention-grabbing headline they will understand it has nothing to do with a "bad cop." Took me all of a minute to read & understand what happened and the circumstances around it before posting.
Does not negate the fact that there are bad cops out there. Just like there are bad people in our military and in our government. They all come from a cross section of our socity and we all know there are bad people out there. Waugh!

The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385, original at 20 Stat. 152) signed on June 18, 1878, by President Rutherford B. Hayes which limits the powers of the federal government in the use of federal military personnel to enforce domestic policies within the United States.

So the military can’t act on US soil essentially.
However it has been done before. Waugh!

Keep in mind the second amendment is just that an amendment. There was an amendment that said no alcohol consumption (18th) until there was one that said that amendment was canceled. (21st) Times change, laws change and people change.
The 18th amendment did not stop drinking and any amendment about firearms would not prevent guns. Waugh!

My biggest fear is they make the process so cumbersome and expensive that the average person won't be able to afford hunting or shooting. In the long run I guess that is a form of gun control.

One must prepare for the future. The days of waiting until the weekend before hunting seasons to buy ammo are long gone, the last several years have taught everyone that. We do a lot of shooting and have always had ammo on hand, long before the price jumps and shortages. With the current state of affairs and the people running this county, it should be fairly obvious to everyone to have everything one needs to get through for a long time. It isn't going to get any better in the near future, if it does at all.

If you didn’t buy a box, a can, a case or a pallet of ammo today you’re a fool. The price is going to spike for at least the next year. If your local store has reloading components you use, buy them. If you have a pistol or semi auto rifle you want to buy, do it tomorrow. If you want more magazines for your carry pistol or semi auto rifle, buy them. Now.

Isn't that hoarding supplies, and what causes shortages? Everyone going out and buying two years worth of stuff, to sit on it.

Call it what you like, I have enough for my use and needs. If I want to shoot a hundred rounds I have it, I don’t have to run to town and hope I can find it. Because someone is stocked up and prepared that makes them a hoarder? Better that then whining about prices and shortages!

I don't know. Maybe. If everyone runs out and buys out the stores, they become empty. If everyone runs out and buys 3 years of toilet paper.....or 100 cases of water, whatever it might be, the stores will be empty. It's just what it is. Kind of like financial panic and a run on the banks.

When I go to Walmart, usually head on back to where the ammo is to see what's going on. Over the past few years there is usually at least one person back there ranting about the lack of ammo, compared to what was once the norm.

I am not that person.

What kind of “currency “ do you have? Is it for sale? Trade?

Wonder how it would work for clubs and organizations? Our club just purchased 3000 shotgun rounds for turkey shoots.

Our club has had an uphill fight the past two years, in getting enough fodder for our block shoots. Just picked up another 30 flats a few weeks ago and we're almost done until next fall. So we should be good for a spell?

Seems like trap loads and field loads have all but doubled in price in the past year.

The Democrats have been talking about this for some time, they are much quieter about this plan now. Over the years chatter and bills have been talked about, such as a 1000% tax on any ammo. “Keep your guns, you will not have ammo!” I believe the they have backed off the radical plan and are just chipping away. Just like every other aspect of our lives, they have a plan.

We stopped our turkey shoots during the covid shutdown, and then when the lockdown was over we couldn't get any ammo. Our shoots are finally resuming this fall. One of our members owns a gun store and thinks the quantity available and pricing is about as good as it's going to get for a while, so we purchased enough for 3 years.

Pretty much our China Virus story. Stopped all indoor events in mid March 2020, didn't start most of them again until winter (Jan.) of 2022. One of our guys has an account at Shirk's and usually gets our Federal shells there, IF Shirk will part with them? We have another member who owns a gun shop and sometimes he'll pick up some.

Lack of shells and loading components has really hurt most trap programs around here.
