Army Heritage Days (May 15-16) is a timeline living history event held at the US Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, PA http://www.usahec.org The event looks at the history of the Army from the French and Indian War period to the present. There will be more than 300 re-enactors, 10 period vehicles, a ranger parachute team jumping in, lectures, period demonstrators, and a special program to dedicate the new momument for the 44th Bomb Group of WWII. If you like militaria its a great event and its FREE!

Market at Washingtonburg is the fall event at AHEC (Sept 10-12) and it is more like a fall Fort Frederick. It is an all 18th century event that looks at the town and camp at Carlisle from 1757-1801. About 150 to 200 period demonstrators, 18th century units, Native Americans and special events of all kinds. There are several gunsmiths there as well as many of the faces you see at Frederick and several more you don't. Also a free event!
