I was wandering if anyone new anything about the gun. I just picked one up and there is no twist rate. I would appreciate any info. Thanks!!

If we are talking about the Armsport Hawkin Rifle then I believe the twist is 1 in 48. They are very similar to the cabela's hawkin.

I am not sure of it being a hawkin it does not say on the barrel. The barrel is 29 inches.

My cousin has one. I do not know much about it but it shoots very very good. I believe they were made in france?

29" would be the hawkin. They also made a PA rifle in a 36" barrel.

I won my first one back in 1978. It was a .54 cal, but the .45, .50 and .54 calibers were all 1 in 48 twist. Mine was manufactured in Italy and imported by Armsport in VA. I took the gun in kit form to learn a little more about the mechinisms. I totally broke down the lock and diamond filed and high polished all the friction bearing spots. It definately was a faster lock than the ones a few friends had. It's like any other ML, you have to practice etc, etc. And it will shoot as well as you can be proficiant in using it. When I started building my own, my daughter used it to compete. She never finished worse than 5th anywhere she shot. Take care of it and it will treat you right.
