While out looking for sheeps and sulfurs today we came across these. The entire hillside was covered. We thought it would be great if they were edible...looked up honey mushrooms and were thinking maybe???? We usually stick to sheeps, sulfurs and morels...so have never had honey mushrooms before. We can check spore prints etc tomorrow. Any info would be great!

Yes they are. The veil under the cap is the key. Nice find.
From the look of the caps some of them may be buggy but you should be able to salvage a lot of them.

thats the beauty of papinki's. you can hit a motherload and fill your freezer. i hit a bunch one year and stopped pickin when i had 2 bushel baskets stuffed full. there was probably 5 times that many still there. it was a few years after a logging operation in some white oak area. prime.
