Ohio also has a nearly continuous bow season, but does not allow centerfire rifles, and has only a six day gun season, then a weekend later on.
Checking NJ, it too has only six days of gun season.
Neither of those states have the same hunter numbers as PA I believe.
While my favorite hunting by far is with the bow, I believe that with the numbers of hunters, and a two week buck season with centerfire rifles, the deer need a break. I also accept that not every deer hunter hunts with a bow, and the gun-only people might think opposite, archery should be three weeks only.
You make bow season non-stop in PA, and in a couple years everyone, bow, gun, flintlock hunters will be screaming in the streets to cut the seasons way back to less than what they are today.
In my locale, the best action historically has been Nov. 3 through Nov 10. Always a little early action or later, but even when the season goes into that mid-November, seems like around me the bucks are locked down more anyway.
