Looking to put a 2 piece quad rail on my S&W M&P15 and was wondering what kind I should get. I dont want a free float rail because I dont shoot the gun that often. Also, what size of a rail should I get? I took a picture of the stock rail with a tape ruler in the pic just so maybe someone can give me an accurate measurement, I dont want to buy a quad rail just to have it bigger/smaller then needed.......

Don't worry so much about the actual length of the rail, you just need a "carbine length" rail. Shouldn't have any troubles getting it to work for you.

What's your budget? Pretty nice ones can be had for about $100, and on into the $200-$300 range.

Look at Yankee Hill Machine, they make decently priced 2 piece rails.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at Yankee Hill rails because I was really pleased with the YH BUIS I bought for the gun.......

Looks like you need a carbine size. Look at the new Daniel Defense EZ Carbine rail, or a used KAC RAS. Both of those would be a better choice than YHM, or MI.
