What exactly is it anyway? I'm sort of new to Harrisburg so this is the first time I've been around for it. Is it just a place to buy a lot of outdoor gear? Are there better deals than you'd see anywhere else? I'm just not sure I get exactly what happens there.

If you're looking for something specific and know prices you can find some deals, but overall I would say there's not a lot of deals, After all they're there to make money. Lots of fishing and hunting outfitters if you're looking to book a trip, you can talk to them and get some questions answered. There is some of "what's new". It's kinda like a giant flea market for the outdoors. The artwork and animal taxidermy displays are something to see, and if you're a gear-head trucks, ATVs, campers etc. Some go for the TV people, I'm not much for that, and then there's the calling contests and seminars. There really is something ( Uh, Er, maybe not this year) for everyone regardless of your outdoor/sporting interests. And it's an excuse to take a day off work and goof off.....which just might be the biggest attraction. I go to see my outfitter friends from Maine who do the show every year, but I need to call them to see if they're aware of what's going on and if they'll be there. This year looks like the day I planned to go I'll be making reservations at the game farm to get my setter on some birds.308winch said:
