Hey all, I'm really new to hunting, I've never hunted before actually. I want to get into it, I saw that the deer season opens the day after Christmas and I'm looking to go hunting near Alentown. Anyone have any good places or anywhere for that matter? I'm also not from around here. Where am I allowed to hunt? What are some restrictions? I know I'm in 5-C, so it's just flintlock rifles right? thanks

No 5C is a special regs Wildlife Management Unit and has an extended doe season for rifles and shotguns too that runs from 12/26 thru most of January. You will need a "doe permit" for 5C though. Go to any county courthouse and you can get one for 5C now. The regular rifle deer season actually already ended.

You have to take your Hunter Education and Safety Course to legally obtain a hunting license too.

If you're near Allentown start by trying State Gamelands #205 off route 100 North. Use the PGC website for more Gamelands locations.

try te get hooked up with a mentor that knows the areas you plan to hunt and read up on the regulations.
