How many top cornhole players do we have here? With cornhole on ESPN and the growth from the ACL, the sport really seems to be taking off... some HUGE payouts out there now also.

My son and I play a lot... too much actually, but it鈥檚 realky a lot of fun. 馃槑馃憤

Not a serious player but love to play. Thoughout most of the nice weather weekends we're playing. My son in law made me a nice set of boards several years ago. Now all daughters/SILs have their own sets. It gets pretty competitive (lol). Nice thing is anyone is able to play this game. It's just the more you play, the better you can become. The folks on the ACL tournaments are just amazing to watch.

Fun to play it by my pool in the summer.

Visited my brother this weekend in DC and his wife gave him an early Bday present while we were there; new set of Steeler boards and bags.

I proceeded to whoop up on him pretty bad but to be fair, he never had a set of boards (and I am not a very good player by any stretch). He was glad to run the white flag up the pole when the sun went down..... :) Then, we proceeded to drink plenty of yeungling from his tap sitting around the campfire....

My son was here last Saturday and flipping around the dial on the basement TV.

He hollered that he'd found something. Figured he was up to something?

A cornhole tournament on ESPN. Told him what was an improvement over ESPN's poker tournaments, or pool tournaments, unless the pool shooters are babes?

:surprise2:

I seldom participate, but that's been a big deal at our Potter clan reunions for years and when our club hosts weekend archery shoots, same thing.

Its a fun game to play with a beer in hand at a tailgate or bbq but that's about the extent of it for me. I didn't really realize it was becoming a "thing" but I'm not surprised in todays day and age apparently there are big time video game players too I've been told.

Colleges have electronic gaming teams now w/ special facilities on campus. It's a NCAA sanctioned sport

I'll go along with game, activity, or waste-of-time but I can't agree with calling video games a sport. Gag, what a depressing sign of our times. I'm 30 years old and complaining about this stuff makes me feel like one of the old curmudgeons, but I just really don't get it.

I would agree, anyone can play... that鈥檚 part of the attraction for so many. Their are no advantages in this game... short, tall, old, young, male, female... doesn鈥檛 matter.

Who would of thought... cornhole on ESPN!!
And to think, almost 800 players showed up at St Louis that weekend.

In August the ACL and ESPN will host the ACL Championships at the Valley Forge Casino.

My son will be playing in the junior division... he鈥檚 a pretty good thrower. 2nd junior in the PA state championships last year and him and I got 4th in PA State doubles.

I think that's quite an achievement there Peppy! Congrats to you and son. It amazes me how some days you can't do a darn thing right, and another game you get hot and can't hardly miss.
I gotta admit though, my first love was horseshoes, but since corn hole became so popular, no one wants to throw the shoes much, They couldn't usually top me in horseshoes, but they have better luck with corn hole LOL.

Thanks Denny.

And you鈥檙e right, one night lights out and the next you just can鈥檛 find the 鈥榸one鈥.

Cornhole is a bit easier to play and you can play about anywhere, including inside... I think that鈥檚 a big part of the attraction. Everything is portable. 馃憤
