I have a bird that is roosted in the same dang tree about every night. Problem is he flys down in no particular pattern. There is a bench above the tree and I am pretty sure this is what he is using to get into the air and into the tree.

I am afraid though that if I get in there in the evening and call, he may steer clear of the area. He seems to have zero interest in responding to calls.

Make a call at 7pm and keep still. He looks over his roost area well before committing. Purr a little and then tuck the calls away early. I had the same thing but, he has been missing for a few days or at least ain't talking. He went on a tour just before youth day for 4 days then returned.

Looking forward to the all day hunting, we have always been able to kill a few in the early afternoon. And with the youngest daughter in school, she will get her chance after school is out.
