I got very busy with work this week and didn't have time to do much more than check my traps in the morning. I wanted to pull everything Wed due to rain and impending fridgid temps coming Thurs. Had something come up with work and couldn't take off as planned. I went to check (and pull) two canine sets yesterday to find that they are under 6ft of water! This may sound dumb but I didn't see that coming even though they are on the edge of a lake that gets partially drained in winter for flood control. I just REALLY hope that they are still there when the water receeds.
Last night I wake up at 3:30 to feed our 4month old her nighttime bottle. I look out the windows, as I always do while the bottle is heating up, to see what I can see on our property and...there are two coyotes running across the front yard. I watch them cross the lane, go up the side of our property and about 30 yards from where I found coyote tracks last week. I have two sets in the back at their stall points coming out of the field behind my property. Hopefully I have time to remake my line, or most of it, tomorrow morning. I may have to set my yard a litte harder too lol!
