July 29 issue PON:

"Franklin County WCO Amanda Powell reports a boy with a BB Gun went hunting for Rabbits."

I'd love to hear more on this ?

- How old was "boy" ?
- Was he issued a warning ?
- Was he fined ?
- Did he actually kill a wabbit ?
- Exactly what did the act of "hunting" look like ?

Man, back when, me and some pals were fairly bad boys.

When I read it, I immediately started laughing.

A. Cause it was so short and to the point.
B. Cause it was in the "Cuffs -n- Collars" section
C. Cause I thought back many, many decades ago.

Perhaps it was slow in that county, and the WCO simply submitted it as a joke ?

Ahahahaha, I always used to shoot birds and stuff when I was a little kid in franklin county with my old crossman 760, and I'm only 32...

My guess is someone who moved here from MD or VA probably lost their mind at seeing a kid with a gun roaming a field.

I drove through parts of MD and VA just last month. The parts I drove through, I think if a boy walked out of the house without his gun, he'd be called back. "Hey Johnny, where ya goin' ? You forgot your gun."

I still have my Daisey mod 25 from the late 50's. As a matter of fact, I was shooting it this morning. There are a bunch of notches on the stock but I forget what they're for. 😉
Hey, what say we all get together and go "shootin' ".......

I second the Crossman 760 and the Red Ryder in Franklin county. I also had several pellet pistols for the joy of shooting. I can't count how many field edges and honeysuckle I tropes through as a youth.

Keep calm and BB on.
