I was given 5 virtually new 6v 4.5 and 5 ah rechargeable batteries. I Like to camp, sometimes out of my truck, and currently use a marine batt to run my cpap machine. I also use 2 Go Pro that need charging along with a cell for safety.
Im trying to figure out uses for these. I may be able to run 2 in series to run the cpap.
If you have any ideas or projects where youve used these id be happy to hear about it!
Thanks!

5ah is not very much. That would be a maximum of 5 amps for 1 hour at a usable voltage "under optimal conditions". Or if you need 8 hours a max of "about" 0.5amp. I'm guessing your cpap uses more than 1 amp and it is not going to run with probably lower than maybe 10V. So if you put 2 in series you get 12V but still only 5ah. Not knowing the amps or watts your cpap uses I doubt you'd get over 3 hours out of a pair in series. If you hooked 4 together in series and in parallel then you'd get [email protected] and maybe 5hrs of use.

Optimal conditions for a battery of this capacity might be .25 - .50 amp draw to achieve the full 5ah rating. If you hit it with 1.5amps you may not achieve the 5ah rating because the capacity rating reduces as the load goes up, it becomes less efficient with a higher load. eg. 5ah rating = .5 amps for 10 hrs but it doesn't = 5hr at 1A, maybe only 4hr at 1 amp or a 4ah rating.
