I had a 6.8SPC...packs more power than 223 and recoil isn't bad.

I'd go 6.8SPC if you are planning on hunting with it, but here in PA it's a no go unless you remove gas block to make it a single shot.

I personally would go 6.5 Grendel over the 6.8 SPC due to having better BC bullets with the 6.5G and if you want to shoot at longer ranges.

Just know that you will need to get 6.8 mags and the proper bolt as it's not just a barrel swap to get into 6.8 SPC.

Thanks , not for me , way to new with these things , my son asked me what i know about the caliber , he just bought a finished upper , 2 mags and the lower that needs assembled from a coworker , time will tell i guess.

If you want a boost in power it's a great option. Especially if you are going to use it to hunt.

It's been around for a few years and I don't see it going away anytime soon.
