I have been there a bunch... The first couple of days, I saw deer, since then it has been real slow. The area I am hunting seems to have a lot of pressure from hunters and other predators. I was talking to a guy in the parking lot who had a bear under him on sat. He had video of it... You are right about the thick stuff, it is also where I seem to find them...

Hey, I was there last saturday. Can confirm this, I was told by a group of hikers I past by that there was a bear in the area. Due to all the reports of anti - hunters, I figured it was a poor scare tactic. About 5 minutes after the hikers, some lady (and I found this so random until I found out about the horseback riding) past by me on a horse telling me "you can't shoot the bear"

By the way, I saw a deer within 15 mins of walking in. Wasn't ready for it lol. I'm glad Im not the only one who finds it too thick, how were you getting through out of curiosity? I got stuck on every bush and vine from car to my spot

lol yeah i didn't personally see the bear either, but I feel like getting through that thick stuff lessens your chance of seeing anything. Had to be making noise pulling my clothes free and fussing to continue walking. Some areas were so thick I couldn't even pass had to walk along the trail. Thats how I ended up bumping into a deer so quick

I have been hunting north end, the corner of providence and Grady. Tracks and signs everywhere but not one deer. Hunting from the ground doesn't help out too much. I avoid walking through the thick. I'm too loud. I try to find something a little more open on the outskirts

I have also hinted the access road between shady and providence. Seen a few doe but too far out.

Hope to get out again Monday and Tuesday when everyone is at work.

Just got back in. Sat in my spot from 615 to around 1130 and didn't see any deer. Decided to walk around to for a bit an saw 5-6 with 20 minutes. All hiding in the thick.
