I have a Rossi made thirty years ago, a copy of the 1892 Winchester in 44-40. It is well made, but initially the action was rough to work. After a hundred rounds or so, the action smoothed quite a bit. I understand they have improved that. I wanted a 45 colt, but got the 44-40 on a closeout for much cheaper. I frequently think about swapping it out for a 45 lever gun. I wouldn't hesitate to get a Rossi, but the Henry's look mighty nice. Sorry I can't answer about the hot loads.
