Browning BLR still available in .358 winchester. I want one, just not bad enough to plunk down the cash.

If I wanted a .358 I might opt for a pre 64 M 88, although I don't recall ever seeing that caliber in that rifle in a carbine......

I have my dad's model 88 in .308 (rifle, not a carbine). Uncharacteristically for the model, ours is a horrible shooter, at least with any ammo we ever tried in it. Course, I have never really fooled around with it much to see what it may like.

760 in 308, around $500
Rebore by JES, $225
There's your 358 bear gun. Almost everything factory in 358 is fairly rare and brings big money. 88 winchesters are $2500 to $3500, ruger 77's are $1000 and up, model 70's $2500 to $4000. JES has great reviews, make your own far cheaper.
