I know there was a post on here a week or so ago about the deadline for the second tag. Just so you all know, the digest says the 26th, but the cutoff is in fact the 19th. So, if you want the second tag, get it before the 19th!

DrakesOnly: I'm afraid that is inaccurate. The following is the narrative directly from the PGC Website.

Resident Second Spring Gobbler Season License: ($21.70) Issued in addition to a general hunting or combination license to resident applicants who wish to obtain an additional spring gobbler tag for that season. Limit of one second spring gobbler season license/tag per license year. Deadline of issuance: Second Spring Gobbler license must be issued by April 26, 2013.

They list it like that every year, "before the regular season". Problem is, the youth season is considered regular, since youth hunters can also buy a second tag. They announce it in a press release every year, but a lot of people don't see/read the press release. I assume Byhalia was basing his info off of what has happened the last couple of years. I always get mine in July anyway, but there are always those that wait until the last minute. Just figured maybe I could save a few of them the aggravation of not having that tag, if they wanted it.

Agreed my friend. I was just admitting that I was wrong in the original thread that's all.

I also have mine already. Good stuff

Release #024-13

PROMISING 2013 SPRING GOBBLER SEASON MAY BE AROUND CORNER

HARRISBURG – The cool spring so far throughout much of Pennsylvania may lead to increased gobbling for hunters planning to take part in the state’s spring wild turkey season.

The state’s one-day youth spring gobbler season is April 20, and will run from one-half hour before sunrise until noon. The general spring gobbler season is April 27 to May 31, with the traditional noon closure for the first two weeks – through May 11, and from one-half hour before sunrise until one-half hour after sunset the remainder of the season, beginning May 13. Hunters who purchase a second spring gobbler season license may harvest up to two bearded turkeys, one per day. Second tags must be purchased by April 26; they’re available from any license-issuing agent.
