contender is better quality than remington/nef/H&R. buy an old frame maybe a pistol. The older onesw had adjustable triggers.

Barrels and rifle stocks are available everywhere.

FWIW, I just got the NEF with sights (handi-rifle) $159 used at gander mt.

Keeping sights rather than a scope. At 100yds it hits a lot harder than my 22mag.

Open sights might let me track a moving target a little better. Who knows? I have not called in a thing while carrying it.....

Encore action with forearm cost about $320.00 for black synthetic.....
Ah but if you have an Encore action all ready why get a NEF?

22 Hornet OK for chucks and fox but not for coyotes...If you want to use it for coyotes go with the 223.

My NEF .223 single shot just doesnt shoot good....Tried all kind of ammo.
