Do to the high cost or ammo, I'm going to start getting into reloading my 22 hornet. Does anybody out there want to give me some advice on what works best for them? I am also curious on how far will I be able to shoot?

Take a page from Rocky Raab's Hornet playbook.

As I've written and explained many times, THE Hornet load is: Rem 6 1/2 small rifle OR CCI 500 small pistol primer, 13.0 LilGun, and use of the Lee factory Crimp die. Brass and your choice of bullet from 35-45 grains.

It WORKS!

The Sierra 40gr Hornet (1200) is a good bullet choice.

+1 Start at 12 gr and work up and pay attention to what brass you are using. Rem brass has a larger case capacity than Win. I can't fit 13 gr in Win brass. I use 40 o 35 Vmax with 12.6-12.8 gr Lil'gun and small PISTOL primers with a light Lee Factory Crimp.
