Lately I have noticed my cruise control not being able to hold speeds on hills on the highway and struggling at all speeds. It sometimes even just shuts off and the memory is gone to resume. It is getting worse and worse. Some have suggested dirty fuel filter or air filter. I replaced the air filter not long ago but not the fuel filter. What do you think is causing this? It use to be very good and strong. The Vortec 350 V8 has been great to me. She has around 117,000 miles on the engine. Thank you.

I would have it scan first to see if you have any codes showing, AutoZone will scan for free.. I think? It's your brake switch since it just shut your cruise down. as for your speed going down? Might be map sensor, egr valve. I would put a can of Sea Foam in your gas tank on your next fill up. It will help clean the carbon build up on the motor.

You may just have a vacuum problem, check for loose or cracked lines, to the cruise Servo and to the bake switch and vacuum reservoir it could be something as simple as that....Good Luck, let us know what you find out if you fix it.
