Hello all,
I recently finished up my 2022 Archery European mount. This is my second euro mount, I have done by myself. After boiling the head, pressure washing the skull, nit picking flesh, and finally bleaching the trophy, the hard part was done. Doing two skulls is enough for me, I plan on paying some to do this dirty job when I am done with college. Next process was deciding how I was going to mount the head. I remembered my father, keeping parts of the old floor from camp, that was replaced last spring. So I wanted to keep the memories alive and have a piece of camp at my house. I thought using an old board for my euro mount was the perfect idea. I decide to draw and carve the board into the shape of "Pennsylvania" to add more character. My resources were limited just to a circular saw. I took my time and the results weren't the worst. Finally I torched and polyed the board. After a couple of trials and errors, the finished product was done. I cherish the harvest of this deer and an old foundation who hunters called "camp" for centuries.
