Did some sneaking around field edges for a few hours on a local gamelands. Squirrels are far between but plentiful where you can find them. The two larger squirrels were a quick double that walked out on the same limb. All head/neck shots. Looking to try some squirrel cakes I have seen people make.

Thank you! Numbers are definitely down overall from last year. I've found not much has changed all season in that they are all clustered around certain trees. In September you could basically only find them around walnuts and when you found them there you could do well. Now, its only in stands with pin oaks. I covered a lot of ground the other day and only found squirrels in 2 small stands in between fields. Archery season was unusually quiet on the squirrel front which is nice for archery but not when I want to target them lol.
