Anyone have any experience good, bad, nasty rumors concerning said weapon?

Pick an XD and go for it. Far and away more good things than bad.

Own two and no bad experiences.

Never shot the XD .40 cal, but have shot S&W .40 cal.
Not a big fan of the .40 cal. Kinda like the 9 mm better.

Just my 2 Cents.

I have a SA XD 40. It's a very nice gun, well built and never had a failure. however, I do have the ported barrel and slide, this does reduce the gun from jumping a bit. If I were to recommend a full sized handgun, the SA XD 40 woiuld be 1 of the recomendations.

I had an XD40 and liked it a lot. I'm just more comfortable carrying a snubby revolver. It was a lot of fun at the range bangin' metal plates one after another for a full magazine.

All XD's are actually single action striker fire pistols. Google Springfield XD torture test and you'll see what what these guys did to one. 20,000 rounds without one single failure to feed, fire or function. In fact they shot the gun so much the trigger got hot to the touch...equaled out to something like one round a minute, continuously for a week straight. Having been a Springfield armorer I can tell you the ergonomics has been compared to the best gun ever...the 1911.

Got it yesterday... test fired today... But I took it easy on it...not anything near getting the trigger warm https://www.huntingpa.com/forums/i...ilies/grin.gif

Thank you!

You will really like your 40 XD. I love mine, very accurate and equally powerful with the capacity that is well balanced between the big punching 45 acp and the fast zipping 9mm. I shoot a lot of 40 S&w I mean a lot. I like this round because I don't believe the 9mm has enough knock down power, and while the 45 has more then enough. I don't like it's limited capacity. I also shoot the 10mm the parent cartridge to the 40 s&w. I carry a 40 for daily protection and the 10mm for woods protection. Did you get it at Juniata Trading Co???
