Repro 1858 Trigger/Bolt spring

I have a Pietta 1858 that broke its trigger and bolt spring after just a little over 200 shots. I found a replacement spring at Tayor's & Co. but I am wondering if I might be looking at another broken spring in a few more hundred shots.

I was also looking at these springs made by Wolff gunsprings http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=2...R_BOLT_SPRINGS

It lists a "modern" wire spring in addition to a flat spring. Might either of these springs last better? Any advantage to the wire spring?

Any suggestions?

I know that one or two of the suppliers, sell "rebuild" kits" for the repro revolvers. Basically replacement springs, hand and one or two other items. So they must break with suffficient regularity to be offerred together as a kit.

I saw those kits at cabela's at $35 piece I hope I never break that many parts to have made one practical.

I decided to try one of the Wolff springs--they are actually a PA company. Its not the exact spring, but hopefully I can make it fit. Its made for Cowboy action shooting so it might last better. Than the ones made in Italy https://www.huntingpa.com/forums/i...lies/smirk.gif

Thank you zimmerstutzen I always value your knowledge about muzzleloaders.
