I'm considering selling a Savage Model 12 Heavy Barrel in .223. It's the "plain jane" Blued/synthetic. Has Accu-Trigger. No marks on it. I personally have never fired it, but it is used. Got it for a Prarie Dog hunt that isn't going to happen for me now. Any idea what an honest price to ask is?
My book shows a Savage model 12FV short action,rt bolt, left ejection, 26" regular barrel, low luster blueing, black syn stock. 5 shot top loading mag. accu trigger became standard in 2003.
98% $395
95% $325
If you don't have a buyer I'll pass the word over our way.
I'd say actual used retail is more on the $275-$300 range. Unless it has a scope. Most of the blued Savages I see are around $200-$225. Just my two cents. I think the ones at Dick's are combos that come with scopes. PM me if you want to sell it. I might be interested.
The plane jane model 12 hvy bbl synthetic stock is the model FV. In good shape they run around $275-300 used, if you have the package model with the cheap scope you can add a few bucks. I have a 12FVSS same gun in stainless that is an absolute tack driver I paid $450 for it new and the blued model at the time was selling around $389. That was a while ago and prices may have gone up a bit since then. I think it may be my most accurate out of the box rifle I ever shot.
I agree with bandit and sendero, i was refering to the scoped package deal at dicks sporting goods.
