The younger muskies have spots like that in the Potomac. We caught a few in the Fall last year. The fish we caught were about 24"-26" and would be the previous year's spawn, making them about 18-20 months old.
What was the length of that fish? If upper 20"s, it's a 2010 fish.
caudal fins on spotted musky are just about always pointed. if that fish in the original post had more than 6 pores on the bottom of its jaw then that removes all doubt.
if someone drove up to me and bet me 2 months salary that it was a pike I would have taken it in a second. guess after you see so many musky you just know.
I think Glendale lake was the only waterway stocked with Amur wasn't it? Might have been some escapees into spring creek/bald eagle from the hatchery too, but if that were one it would mean reproduction is occuring, and that the OP was on one of those waters right?
Now you did it, everyone who thinks it is a Muke will be upset!
