I thought this might be a good thread to pass the time before bear season, as well as give others an idea of the type of terrain that guys are bear hunting in........if you have any pictures of the terrain that you guys bear hunt in post them up, or if you don't have any pictures, a description works too....I am interested to see what all we end up with.....I will start off with a few pictures.....we chase mostly river, and river tributary hillsides that are all choked off with thick rhododendron, and steep as heck....

Great post! I would like to see it gain interest!

My bear huntin woods. Look very similar but i will see what i have for pics! Lots of hillsides, wild rhody and mountain laurel and hemlocks....i log 25mi or so each season...i rarely sit on a drive....if i do i must be a tired dog!

Remember one time isplit off from a buddy and we were still talking through our plans...i thought i was on boulders.....ended up being ontop of wild rhody and i found a hole...i ended up suspended...still 8 ft to the ground! Lol...i WAS on very tall boulders but it was so thick in spots i had no idea the hillside sloped off so fast!

Glad i didnt get hurt...thats our biggest concern is if someone blows a knew or ankle etc....our older guys know they can sit 100% of the time and i am glad they do....id hate to have to carry someone out...its tough for us 20-30yo guys..
