Hare-a-noia: A mental disorder particular to the Pennsylvania hare hunter. Typical manifestations include excessive or irrational suspiciousness regarding coveted spots, another's success or anything else that may lead another to one's spot.
I have a particularly bad case which has led me to no longer place hare posts on this site. Good luck to all the hare hunters. I'll enjoy reading THEIR posts. Ten days and counting!

I took a guy to a good spot some years back. The next year him, his brothers, his sisters, his dad, his mom, his uncles, his grandparents, cousins, distant cousins, coworkers, penpals, etc. were there hammering the spot out. There are no longer hare in that location.

Never again.
I actually had one guy shoot a hare that my dogs were driving at another spot. I'm lucky enough to have two locations close to my house that there are a few hare that I've never seen another hunter/hound at. I try to only kill one or two each year in those locations. I even hide my truck when I hit them.
Times are tough. Snowshoes are probably my favorite critters to hunt, next comes running yotes with hounds and spring gobbler hunting.

been 20 years since i hunted that spot, i did go there for a day last year and it looked good. just gonna drive the area and get a game plan for the first day. i hunt alone with just my one dog and just looking to run a few. if i got one, that would be plenty.

We call that "spot jumping" and in the gentleman's world of rabbit hunting, it is the ultimate sin.
It is unacceptable to our group even on public land.
Someone's spot is just that. their's
