Yea people buying less guns and ammo since they feel their rights won't be taken away by an over reaching government...not sure if this is a good thing either

It's not good for companies/industries to go on an endless winning streak, corrections are good for overall markets, trims the fat, makes things more competitive long term, free market stuff ya know

hoping to see the 9.99 box of 50 9mms soon again,
same with surplus 556 an 762x51 drop in price from years past...
it is a buyers market that is for sure...
last few years scare was all it was about for skyrocketing sales numbers..
now the over stock is so high maybe they will trim the price to move some supply .
but i do not think you will see decent prices till middle of next year...

well they have to have an a metric ton of ammo every were.
As all the world laughed and joked that don would not win, ammo companies had to be in 9th gear putting ammo out waiting for the big liberal win and the rush to start the day after... now they are all prob have way more product then they do buyers..
so we all can cross our fingers and hope they will lower them and not let it sit around for a few years waiting for the next big election again.

It's all a numbers game, they can be turned to look good or look bad. Gun sales spike at election time and after a catastrophic incident. Price is directly effected by demand, just keep in mind, these manufactures did it to themselves. Increase productivity, increase price and rape the consumer. When you purchase something remember the manufactures and gun gun shops that took part in this. It all comes around full circle, I know who has remained loyal to me and I'll remain loyal to them, I also remember who tried to overcharge me, they can have the lowest price around and I probably won't buy from them ever again. One local guy was getting $35 a pound for Varget, I just bought it the other day from another supplier for $23, who has kept their price pretty steady throughout the Obama administration and Sandy Hook tragedy. Availability wasn't always there but I have enough to hold me over during the tough times.

I haven't been able to buy Federal Match primers in 2 years, I like them but I may never use them again. Federal opted to supply the big time users and hose the small guy with product. CCI BR primers have always been more expensive but they've been available and work pretty darn good.

All Is Fine

I just checked a few gun manufactures and the latest financials show the highest revenue ever. To say that sales have tumbled since Trump took office is a mystery to me because there is NO financial results available that covers this time frame.

With Trumps aggressive direction for military spending the manufactures should do just fine. FT

410-er,

I'm assuming we were at the same sale yesterday. Been coming to their sales for 15 or so years. I believe that was the largest crowd I've seen there in a long time. I was with three friends. None of us even bothered to bid. One friend, who was there for the first time, asked me if you could get some deals with the ammo that was for sale. Simply laughed and told him we would be leaving when the guns were done being auctioned off. Sounds as though we made the right call.

manufacturers have been scrambling to feed the demand caused by hoarders. But cautiously expanding production. There were some severe ammo shortages in the late 1940's caused by hoarding. There was a big editorial about it in American Rifleman about the shortage. (1948 I believe)

Government regulations have caused some price increases. Lead contamination in the workplace etc.
