Jay Cutler Bashing......

I have been listening to ESPN Radio and for at LEAST the past two hours, all they have talked about is Jay Cutler and whether or not he is a wuss. Unreal.

What do you think? Are they making a big deal about the actual "injury" or is this a chance for everyone to vent about his over-all attitude?

I would think that any decent QB qould want to try and lead his team to the SB injured or not. So I think he probably over exagerated the injury cause hes a cry baby and things weren't going his way.

Stogey - I agree. Everyone is waiting to hear what the MRI says. Does anyone honestly think they won't make the MRI sound worse than it actually is, after all this?

IF he did "quit" because of being a crybaby (and I agree he is), I think Urlacher will eat him for a snack this afternoon.

I never really liked Cutler and his attitude however I have no idea how serious the injury was. It's one thing to play injured if you can still play at a high level, it's quite another if you can't be effective and actually hinder your team by playing.

The funniest thing is the fans going nuts and burning his jersey. Maybe those fans should show some anger for the Bears' horrible O line play this season. Cutler regularly got pummeled game after game this season because that O line was terrible. I believe the Giants sacked him 10 times in one game? I think Lovie Smith actually took him out of that game because of the beating he was taking.

Trask - I actually thought about this.... Do you think the coaching staff basically "benched" him but used the injury as an excuse? In other words, they didn't want to say they actually benched him - it was the injury.

Cutler showed no signs of wanting to go back in the game and he wasn't even limping. Something just doesn't seem right. Attitude or no attitude, you are playing for a chance to play in the Super Bowl.

Exactly, if he takes a beating and they lose than he has the offseason to heal up. If he plays through his "injury" and they win than hes a hero, but I don't see how the HC could have thought to himself that if we take our starting QB out of the game we still have a chance of winning. My opinion is that hes a big cry baby but than again I'm not a big Cutler fan.

It's possible as he wasn't getting it done on the field however what did they expect with the Packers' D in his face all day?

It is possible that the injury wasn't as serious as claimed and that the coaching staff was worried about making it worse with the pounding that he was taking out there.

We may never know the truth about how serious the injury was.

as many of you know I coach football, in particular QB's and receivers. the thing that I found odd was that he was still on the sidelines yet not involved with the back up QB's. No head set on trying to pick up on what the defense was doing and relaying that to the less experienced QB's. Usually, when a QB goes out, regardless of the reason and especially in a game as important as this one, the more experienced QB tries to help out the less experienced one. I have a hard time being a Cutler fan and the fact that he just went to the sideline and did nothing only serves to reinforce my opinion of him.

Cutler is not a winner. Not in the sense that Rodgers, Rothlisberger, Brees, and Rivers are. He is not a guy I would want running my team. He is not a leader.

That said, only he knew the severity of his injury. I doubt anyone playing the game would have come out if he felt that he could help the team and that he was their best chance of going to the SB.

What has Rivers won? Did I miss something?

For that matter, what's Rodgers won up until now? Rivers is a stat machine. Those guys don't usually do very well in the post season. The goal of any defense is essentially to make the offense become one dimensional. Teams like that already are. Why do you think that Marino and Fouts never won anything, despite having crazy stats. Since the changeover to a Big 12 offense, Brady hasn't won anything either. Manning won once, but he had a running game, at least that night, and the other QB was Rex Grossman.

I never really cared for the guy but these guys who are sitting at home watching from their couch because their season is over is somewhat comical to me.

How do they know what Cutler was feeling? He said he felt like he couldnt plant to throw.

Deion Sanders is questioning Cutler's toughness??? Are you kidding me? That guy was softer than kickers. I never saw him lay a huge hit on anyone, nor did he take them as a returner or receiver, and you couldn't have gotten him to block for an additional $10 mil per season. If Ben, or Favre, wanted to question Cutler's toughness, that's understandable, though wrong, since only Cutler, and to a lesser extent, the Bears really knew what was wrong.

As I stated before, I am not a fan of Cutler's attitude but that is the way he is.

The guys tweeting during the game and calling him a wuss are pathetic. They had no idea what was wrong and they were quick to call him out as soft. He had a sprained MCL which any doctor will tell you is the same as tearing it. It was on his planting leg thus making it very difficult for him to set his leg and drive accurate throws.

He is the QB of the future in Chicago so why would they risk having him go back out there and totally blowing his knee out and possibly miss a large part of next season?

Yes, Dion was a great cover corner, no doubt, one of if not THE best, but there are two kinds of corners, soft corners, who, as the name implies cover well but are not big on contact, and hard corners who love to drop their shoulders and hit. Dion, without a doubt, was a notorious soft corner. True, he now gets paid to give his opinion but when it comes to calling someone soft, he needs to keep his mouth shut (which will never happen.

According to Lovie Smith, Head Coach, and Brian Urlacher, Captain, Cutler wanted to back into the game and Smith, himself, said he told Cutler no and that his day was over.

To my knowledge, when the Head Coach and Captain of the team both say the same thing, I'd say it's credible. Again, from what I understand, the Head Coach made the call to keep him out. Could be because he wasn't effective anyway, add the injury, etc., but, the decision not to play, according to the Head Coach, was his alone and not Cutlers.

It's interesting to note that Cutler is a Type I Insulin-Dependent Diabetic as well. Pretty tough as it is but to be a professional athlete on top of it is impressive, IMO.

I say give the guy a break. He was told NO, period. Could be because he wasn't playing well, could be this or that, could be the injury, but, the bottom line, he wasn't coming back in whether he could or wanted to according to the HEAD COACH. I also read where one of his OL, Kreutz, said he was shaking in the huddle after the injury and he didn't even think he'd make it until halftime.

Deion Sanders - Best CB, without a doubt. Without a doubt? Wow. Mel Blout, Mike Haynes, Willie Brown, and Rod Woodson come to mind. Everybody has an opinion I guess.
