i was cleaning my Sako AV after another successful season, and removed the bolt completely to clean it. this bolt has some moving parts, and I can't seem to get itback in properly. I can get it back in past the bolt release, and about 3/4ths closed. there is a slot in the reciever where the firing pin mechanism slides into, but the pin isn't lining up with the groove in the stock by the safety. any Suggestions before I have to take it to the gun shop?? Thanks!
You might have camed it over when you were cleaning it. It just has to be uncocked not an easy task. I did the same thing a few years ago but I can't think exactly how I reset it. Jim
Search on the web. There got to be a schematic showing a breakdown of your rifle.Seems like anything you need info on is on the internet. Is this you Spuzz?
Bolt has to be cammed. Do you still have the round plastic bolt take-down tool that came with the gun? Without it they are darn hard to fix. If not and your local shop doesn't have one let me know and I will send you mine to borrow and help you through it if needed. Jared
I was rotating the bolt in the oily rag when I felt something turn. Quite possibly I did cam the bolt I felt it rotate. I don't have the plastic take down tool, I bought the gun used about 8 years ago.
Like I said, you're more than welcome to borrow mine. If you have the A5 it will work but if you have an A7 I can't tell you for sure. If you like I can send it to you to try
PUT a flat piece of metal across the back bump hanging down off the firing pin, I use the edge of a 90 degree shaft of a screwdriver..at the same time your pulling back, rotate it in the right direction to go over that little bump and then release it past that bump..now you know how hard the firing pin hits the primer...no big deal!
i dont know if its like a tikka bolt but i googled tikka rifle bolt, and it showwed how to completely disassmble bolt very easy. no special tools
