Whats your favorite stick and reel? im starting to like throwing bucktails and jerk baits in medium size range. Big enough for tigers but still small enough for bass to hit. #6 vibrex and husky jerk type stuff. my wal-mart rods and reels are starting to look and feel a little lacking.

I rarely throw big stuff - sticking with smaller bucktails/jerkbaits and a couple of 7" gliders.

Nothing fancy for me an Ugly Stick SP1100(?) matched with a Penn 450ss(real American one). However I catch most of mine with my walleye rod a 7' ML Berkley Limited paired with a Pfluger President with 6lb AN-40 silver thread LOL.

It seems that when I throw big lures and I catch little fish and when I throw little lures I catch big fish.

i am thinking about either a st croix mojo bass rod (7ft m/h fast action) or a denali j2 in same configuration. i never learned to use a hatecaster efficiently so probably stick with the spinning gear. i like pluger president reels also.

summer time and early fall you cant go wrong with jerkbaits. leos and sledges are my go to baits. short rods 7-7.5 foot med heavy-heavy fast action. late fall to spring smaller glide baits and twitch baits seem to be the ticket. hellhounds and 6"grandmas. rich newman makes one of the best small glidebaits ive used. although they're harder to find than the hellhounds theyre basically the same bait.
