Got this and several others yesterday at Merritt Island FL and have been told sightings of a Peregrine Falcon are quite rare here. Usually no more than one a year.
It's a first for me so I wanted to share it here with my friends.
Thanks everyone. Darn near walked by that bird, just saw it
out of the corner of my eye and thought it was an osprey.
Took a shot with the 500 lens, checked it and got the shock of my life. Needless to say many shots were taken then.
Nice pic. We spent the winter in Hernando Fl. Went to Fort Island Beach one day and walked out on the fishing pier. There was a peregrine sitting on the railing with about 10 inch fish. People were putting their hand up to the bird withing inches. It just sat there eating.
