I'm just now getting around to posting some pics...

It was another good year for my father and myself. I shot my small 7 pt on Fulton Co. public land on the first Sat.

my father killed his biggest buck in his 50th year of hunting in Clinton Co. on the 2nd Mon. also on public land. 19.5 inside spread, measured just over 130".

The bull elk came to about 8 yds on the first Tue in the rain. I have a great cell video of him.

Awesome! Must of been a fantastic feeling walking up to your Dad after he shot that huge buck. Congrats!

Is that the first time a bull got that close to you?
ACEarcher,

Yes, that was a fantastic feeling. My father isn't much of an antler hunter. He would have been just as happy with any buck but he was pretty pumped. It was just an overall great experience and a few hugs and hand shakes were definitely in order.

I have been close to a few bulls but none that big or while I was in my treestand. The best I could tell he was either a 6x7 or a 6x8. Either way it was ALOT of antler coming at me thru the laurel.

Thanks fellas!

Goosehunter,

I was going to get the lower jaw after he was done showing off the head. When I finally got to it he had already disposed of the head and only had the horns.

We generally do weigh the bucks taken at camp but we were afraid the roof rafters in the old garage wouldn't hold the weight. I know it was bigger than any other we weighed. I think the biggest we had weighed up there was about 150+ dressed.
