Skyline drive, any suggestions?

My wife and I are making plans to go there in a few weeks.
We have never been there. Anyone have any info on things to do while there? Preferable off the beaten path type stuff.

We are planning on checking out the lowray (sp?) Caverns but not sure what else to do.

Thanks

The Dickey Ridge Visitors Center is pretty cool. There is also hiking trails around there with some history to them. It is off the entrance from Front Royal. Our family had a reunion there every year from 1960's thru the 1990's. Ene though it was the same thing every year I enjoyed it all the time.

Hiking and taking pics. Not a wbole lot going on. Have a place to stay? I can look up the motel I stayed at last year. Inexpensive, just east of Luray.

Re: Skyline drive, any suggestions?

Thanks for the info.

TPlank,
If it's not to much trouble that would be great.
Thanks

Hillside Motel

Rates were very reasonable. It was clean. Would stay there again.
