Pop Up Repair - Getting Ready

We bought a cheap camper last year for family vacations. I knew it needed a little work and have finally dug into it. Here's my progress so far.

The rotten wood in the rear

Disassembled - waiting on the new pieces

2 new side pieces.

Last years trip to Raystown.

Can't wait to get her done and on the road for some trips.

More to follow.......

Re: Pop Up Repair - Getting Ready

I have a 95 or 98 Dutchman sitting here that needs a new roof and either new canvas or some patches. I got it about 2 years ago and planned to make a whole new roof but just never did yet. Its a shame cause its a nice floor plan (2 U shaped couch w/tables that go down to beds, a furnace, sink, 2-way fridge.
I know where there is another one sitting that I could pick up for $50. Someone left it at a storage lot (no title) and the guy just wants it gone. Don't recall the make and didn't open it up and look at it but I know it has a little water damage an needs a repair. Its a plain one with just a cooler, not sure if it even has a furnace.

Keep us updated on your progress.

Re: Pop Up Repair - Getting Ready

I was a little intimidated at first but as I started I got to see how simple these campers are. I picked up my supplies on ebay so far - pretty cheap. The butyl for the trim reinstall, new door seal, and the weather striping that seals the screws in the trim. I also just picked up a Jayco add a room on craigslist - brand new never used for a steal! I haven't had alot of time to work on it but here's the progress so far -

New side pieces installed.

More to follow soon hopefully. A fulltime job, a part time side business and youth sports keep a guy hopping. Turkey Season will interrupt all activity until some spurs are hanging! LOL!

Tracker - For $50 you can't go wrong. If the water damage is minor it should be a breeze. I might have $125 in materials in my repair when all complete.

More to follow.
