LOCUST LAKE FROM READING

Does anyone no if rt 209 is any better then going over the mt on Burma rd. from Reading? I'm trying to avoid the long haul up the mt from St Clair and then back down into the park. Towing a 30' 5th wheel. Thanks for any and all help.

Re: LOCUST LAKE FROM READING

The Moss Glen Road from 209 at Brockton over the mountain to Locust is steep and twisty, up and down, but it is less than 3 miles. 209 is flat.

I don't think there is an easy approach getting into the park. I used to sweat it a little towing my popup camper going there. Now that I pull a 28' camper it really gets me sweating.

Re: LOCUST LAKE FROM READING

It's a little farther, but easier on equipment if you stay on 61 past St. Clair and go up to Frackville and hit I-81 North. Get off the Mahanoy City exit and immediately make a left onto the Morea road. About 2 or 3 miles out that road is the left onto the Burma....Couple miles to the left at the golf course and its all downhill from there.

Don't let the name fool Ya!
