RB Winter State Park

I heard that the lake at RB Winter is currently drained; any validity to this?

Re: RB Winter State Park

I'd guess not since their website indicates as of 07/30/2015 that the beach is open for swimming. But I haven't been up there in a few years.

Re: RB Winter State Park

The beach was closed to swimming because of a bacteria of some sort. That's what I heard anyway. Kinda hard to believe bacteria can live in that cold of water.

Re: RB Winter State Park

If that's the reason a beach is closed, it's usually due to an abundance of geese in the area leaving their calling cards lying around.

Re: RB Winter State Park

Halfway lake was closed for two days due to high e coli sample, it is back to normal and open. They are thinking it was a bad sample from what I heard. I will be driving through there Tuesday am, I will double check. Kinda cold to be swimming in September there, its Col enough on a 100 degree day, but feels good!!

Re: RB Winter State Park

I definitely won't be swimming haha . . just thinking my daughter would like to play on the beach. She just turned 2 and we're going to start camping pretty regularly.
